It’s hard to present previous work into a portfolio if u haven’t viewed it for months, the thought that you had a couple of months ago about that design floated away and it’s hard to bring them back up again. Now that I’m seeking for an apprenticeship or internship I needed to have a portfolio and started to bring up my previous ideas again.

It’s been a while since the first part and I finally got some time to spend on the second part of the trip. Which is a bit larger then the first. Copenhagen was so awesome to be in. They have those bikes where u put in some money and then u can take them with u. Just like a shopping cart, after u put them back u get your money back. They are available through the whole city. If you get to be in Copenhagen I would say ride one of those bikes.

We’ve been around Copenhagen for like five days. There was one day that we went to visit Malmo. I really enjoyed the projects from BIG and the little church at the end of this presentation. The details how the windows were attached to the building really inspired me. From the inside of the building it just looks like that there are holes in the wall.

The new architecture trip is already being prepared! We’re going to visit London. It more old architecture. I think we can fill a good 7 days of viewings in London. Really looking forward to it!.

Two weeks ago I came back from an architecture trip with my school. There were close to forty students and more the fifty projects to visit. We slept in very bad hostels, well actually they weren’t that bad but I wasn’t used to it. We saw architecture in Hamburg, Copenhagen and Malmo in seven days. This first part will be about the first two days that were in Hamburg. Warning, there could be a bit of long load.

We stayed two days in Hamburg and we’ve seen around 13 projects there. Some of the architects are: Pysal Ruge Architects, J. Mayer Architects, Miralles & Tagiabue, Richard Meier and Benisch Architekten. I must say that I didn’t expect this much good architecture in Hamburg. It’s a vibrant city that really surprised me. The most attractive architecture were parts of the Ellberg Campus Altona.

This lovely design by Richard Meier from 2001 was once’s the headquarters of Rickmers Linie but now it is part of the American embassy. There were big men with even bigger guns that, when we took out our photo cameras, we couldn’t get to close and we should be careful. A pitty.

The Elbphilharmonie.

The direction of the Elbphilharmonie gave us a tour through they construction site of the new concert building of Hamburg named The Elbphilharmonie. We were allowed to take pictures inside but we sadly weren’t allowed to publish them at any media. I only have some pictures of the hafencity were the Elbphilharmonie is being build as I type this. Hafencity is a new office district in Hamburg that has been build at the old Speicherstad.

Speicherstad were the docks way back in the time of Hamburg.When goods were stored in Speicherstad they weren’t imported in Germany yet. Which means that no taxes needed to be payed yet. This made Speicherstad a popular place to store their goods in big brick warehouses.
